Senior Operations Associate (Loan Operations)

Because the work sits at the intersection of accounting fundamentals and financial services specialization. Fund accounting, NAV calculations, complex instrument valuation, and investor-level reporting are learned over years, not months. The candidate pool with both the technical depth and operational maturity to lead in these environments is narrow, and most of the strongest professionals are already employed.

Understanding of fund structures, regulatory deadlines, and the ability to manage complexity without losing accuracy. Technical credentials help, but the real differentiator is whether the candidate has navigated tight close cycles, handled investor-facing deliverables, and operated in environments where errors carry real reputational and financial consequences.

Strong candidates rarely evaluate a role based on title alone. They look at what the position actually owns, how the function is viewed internally, whether the environment is stable or in transition, and what success will realistically look like in the first 6 to 12 months. Many first discover a role through a posting, but the strongest career decisions usually come from understanding the context behind the opportunity, not just the job description. In accounting and finance hiring, that level of context is often what separates a lateral move from a meaningful one.
