Tax Director

Responsibilities

• Lead the oversight of U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filings for corporate and partnership returns.
• Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to prepare and review income tax provisions (ASC 740), including assumptions and disclosures.
• Manage local tax filings, audits, and inquiries, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate R&D tax credit studies and conduct Section 174 analyses to optimize tax benefits.
• Drive tax planning initiatives to minimize liabilities and enhance the effective tax rate.
• Implement process improvements and technology solutions to ensure compliance with reporting standards and internal controls.
• Foster relationships with external tax advisors and auditors, ensuring alignment and timely execution of tax strategies.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• 8–10 years of relevant tax experience in a Big 4 firm or large corporate tax department, with a focus on U.S. income tax provisions and SEC/statutory reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Strong expertise in corporate and partnership income tax compliance, ASC 740, and U.S. GAAP.
• Proficiency in tax process automation and modern tax software (e.g., Alteryx, OneSource, Vertex).
• Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across functions.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience in public company or private equity-backed tax reporting environments.
• Knowledge of Up-C and TRA structures.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Highly organized with strong judgment and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
