Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process by preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining close calendars, and ensuring timely completion of accounting activities.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations for bank accounts, merchant processors, and intercompany accounts, while supporting multi-channel revenue reconciliations.
• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against budget and forecast, providing insights for financial reporting and decision-making.
• Oversee equity administration, ensuring cap table accuracy and compliance with state and local tax requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and audit readiness.
• Utilize AI tools to streamline processes and improve documentation and workflow efficiency.
• Support ongoing process improvements and automation initiatives related to compliance and corporate administration.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• 2–3 years of accounting experience in public accounting, audit, or a high-growth corporate environment.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or a comparable ERP system, along with advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience in public accounting or audit, particularly with Big 4 or regional firms.
• Familiarity with e-commerce, CPG, retail, or multi-channel business models.
• Knowledge of equity administration, cap table management, and payroll tax compliance.
• Experience with finance and reconciliation platforms such as Blue Onion, Ramp, Shopify, or Carta.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA candidate preferred.
