Manager/Senior Manager Finance & Accounting

A rapidly expanding real estate investment platform focused on industrial outdoor storage is scaling its finance and accounting function to manage a portfolio approaching $500 million across more than 125 investments. Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for funds, joint ventures, and property-level entities within a complex investment structure.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Oversee investor-related activities such as capital calls, distributions, partner capital account management, and waterfall calculations, coordinating closely with third-party administrators and property accountants.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity forecasting, and treasury functions across multiple entities to support capital planning and investment transactions.
• Coordinate audit and tax engagements, preparing schedules and financial packages to facilitate external reviews and compliance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and investment professionals on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to inform portfolio performance and transaction decisions.
• Drive improvements in accounting policies, controls, and reporting processes, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency as the platform scales.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in real estate private equity, fund accounting, or investment management with multi-entity structures.
  • Proven expertise in fund-level and property-level accounting, including capital calls, distributions, partner capital accounts, and waterfall modeling.
  • Experience managing relationships with fund administrators, property accountants, and other external service providers.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to analyze complex transactions and financial statements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial reporting systems and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with senior leadership, investors, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
• Nice-to-Have:
  • CPA certification or public accounting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in a real estate investment context.
  • Knowledge of treasury management and liquidity forecasting within investment platforms.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools to enhance reporting capabilities.
