Assistant Controller - Private Equity

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of multiple funds and related investment vehicles, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with partnership agreements.
• Review and analyze deliverables from fund administrators, including NAV packages, financial statements, and carried interest calculations.
• Manage fund liquidity, including cash management, capital calls, distributions, and compliance with credit facilities.
• Supervise accounting for management and advisory companies, ensuring accuracy in bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, establishing performance goals and supporting professional development through training and coaching.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual U.S. GAAP financial reporting and manage the annual audit process, responding to audit requests as necessary.
• Drive process improvements and assist with the implementation of new operational procedures, enhancing efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in private equity or public accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, real estate, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and partnership accounting, with experience in complex fund structures.
• Prior supervisory experience in an accounting role.
• Nice-to-Have:
• CPA license.
• Experience with real estate and debt funds.
• Prior experience at a fund administrator.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
